Screening Die ängstliche Verkehrsteilnehmerin (OmU).

Martha Mechow (Regie), Charlotte Brandhorst (Dramaturgie) & Duygu Agal (Moderation)

5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Screening: Martha Mechow: Die ängstliche Verkehrsteilnehmerin (with original audio and English subtitles). Followed by a conversation with Martha Mechow @martha_mechow (Director), Charlotte Brandhorst (Dramaturgy), and Duygu Agal @duyguagal (Moderator).

Years after their mother quite literally disappeared, leaving the two little sisters behind, Flippa, the younger one, sets out in search of Furia, the elder. Rhyming, monologuing, reciting from literature and her diary, she stumbles through Italy and various love affairs, until she finally encounters Furia at a mother–child spa. Along the way, Flippa wonders whether — and how — it might be possible to love beyond the “heterosexual knot” — as if love itself could be the rescue.

Reclaiming Pleasure

In times where joy, intimacy, and connection are too often disrupted, we reclaim the dance floor as a space of resistance, sensuality, and collective healing. Reclaiming Pleasure is not just a party, it’s a ritual of music, bodies, and togetherness. Through workshops, live acts, performances, and DJs, we’ll move through layers of sound and expression until morning light.

Workshop: Pleasure Ritual w/ Oli Lipski An opening ritual to ground, connect, and prepare our bodies for a night of collective release.

Live Acts:

Alfaia -** **songwriter weaving Cape Verdean, Angolan & German roots into folky, soulful songs that speak of land, love, and belonging.

Adama - singer & multi-instrumentalist blending Afrobeat, jazz, classical and improvisation into spontaneous, genre-fluid sets.

Performance: Booty Therapy´A radical collective performance of Afro-urban rhythms, feminist resistance, and joyful release. Movement becomes rebellion, healing, and celebration.

DJs Missex – queer electroclash + tropical beats, turning the dance floor into a space of catharsis, critique, and unapologetic pleasure.

Ap Solis - Mexican DJ weaving indie dance and bass house into bouncy, shadow-and-light grooves that pull you deep into the night.

Moji b2b Darbak - two energies meet in a back-to-back journey of deep rhythms and driving intensity, closing the night with fire and flow.

Curated by VulvaaPower and Berlan Allee Studios In collaboration with Clubcomission e.V. & Torhaus Berlin e.V.

Workshop: INTERIM_INTERIM_USE_USE

Jörie Manduki & Kilian Flade

12:00 PM - 3:30 PM

On Saturday afternoon we will take over Alte Feuerwache THF for an afternoon of exploration of interim uses and processes of space appropriation. We will create new temporary uses hands-on – right in the middle of the temporary use. What unused spatial potential is there? What kinds of uses can take place? What kinds of spaces can be created? And what difficulties are encountered in the process? It will be messy, it will be fun. No skills necessary, just a desire to create something new!

Jörie Manduki (they/them//he/him) is a space maker, facilitator, producer, artist and storyteller. Trained as an urban practitioner and researcher (M.Sc. Urban Design, TU Berlin, RMIT Melbourne) as well as a design thinker, they have been working at the intersection of art, urbanism, research and education since 2017. Their work focusses on space making, group facilitation, story telling, conviviality and activism. They are a founding member of Floating e.V.

Kilian Flade (he/him) runs a queer bar in his hometown of Würzburg and is a consultant for participation & design thinking as well as an event moderator at his own consulting firm SUPERMORITZ. In his work, he combines knowledge from his studies in urban and regional planning (B.Sc. & M.Sc. TU Berlin) with training in design thinking (Hasso Plattner Institute) and moderation (Berlin School of Journalism). He is a member of Urbane Praxis e.V.

Physical Relics

Fortuna

3:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Physical Relics is an interdisciplinary programme, centered around live art, that speaks to what is visible and invisible, to what is temporary and what is permanent.

This exhibition of Berlin-based performance artists Cajsa Godée, Minq, Eszter Salamon, Cavid Dhen, Cru Encarnação, Layton Lachman, Camila Malenchini, E Hütt, and Isu Kim Lee dialogs with what is left behind, what is emptied out; the traces of actions and interactions.

›Physical Relics‹ is a collection of performance works, that is in one way or another, enmeshed with material; they exist through it, they transform or are transformed by it, they slide into the entropic spiral of universal decay with it. Here we see, we imagine and we speculate on how these traces can store the immanence of action. ›Physical Relics‹ speaks about the fountains of knowledge and the symbolic value that live art sets into motion.

Over two evenings the audience is invited to commune with us in this dense landscape from which performances will emerge.

6 Lips

Bahar Kaygusuz, Olga Hohmann und Lukas Kesler

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

We assume that we have two lips—or four. But in reality, we have six lips. In our throat, the larynx, are the vocal cords. Invisible, tiny muscles that are responsible for producing sound.

Behind the lips is a hole. A dark hole. A mystery.

The sirens, as we know them from Greek mythology, sing so beautifully that their song is intoxicating—boats capsize because the sailors can no longer concentrate on steering. They sink into the waves.

In a listening session, Bahar Kaygusuz, Olga Hohmann, and Lukas Kesler explore the highs and lows, the abysses, the worldly, metaphysical, and emancipatory dimensions of the voice, while also touching on the location-specific theme of the alarming, ominous fire siren.

Session 3 — Solidarity Spaces: Reclaiming Space, Seeding Futures

Urbane Praxis e.V.

2:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Reclaiming Space, Seeding Futures

Welcome to the future. A future where culture grows through solidarity, where spaces and communities in urgency are connected, and where access to space is reclaimed and reimagined by those who are vocal, critical, and standing with communities under siege and those who have been forcefully displaced.

We are not there yet.

Gentrification, budget cuts, right-wing hostility and silencing tactics are threatening those who dare to be critical. Institutions are retreating, funders are withdrawing, and the weight of holding space is left on the shoulders of queer communities, diasporic and migrant initiatives, anti-racist collectives, critical artists from the diaspora, and the displaced. These are always the first to lose access.

So the question is: how do we reclaim space for cultural resistance? How do we unearth the toxins in Berlin’s soil that block us from reclaiming space collectively and practically? What do we want to seed together?

This gathering is a call to act. Together we will learn from international community-led approaches. We will look at what blocks us from reclaiming access. We will plant seeds of practice and alliance for cultural resistance. And we will map what Berlin needs now to grow a living web of mutual aid and solidarity.

Hosted by Urbane Praxis, Space of Urgency and AL Berlin

With contributions from Nicky Böhm (Lilipad), Liese Kingma (Space of Urgency), Zaina Shreidi (Diaspora Rising), Emiko Gejic (Urbane Praxis e.V., Clubcommission), Alice Priori (Collective-Care Berlin / CitizensLab) and more TBA.

Finissage und Artist Talk of the Exhibition ‘Notes on Rescue’

Exhibition ‘Notes on Rescue’

4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Come to the closing event! Let’s celebrate together as we bid farewell to the old fire station at Tempelhofer Feld.

One item on the evening’s program is an artist talk with artist Ulrich Formann and curator Enrique Torres. The focus will be on the work ground truth, which Ulrich Formann developed as part of the residency “Entstehung einer künstlerischen Tatsache” (The Emergence of an Artistic Fact), a program initiated by Enrique Torres in Jena.

In the discussion, we will examine the interplay between art and science, the opportunities, limitations, and perhaps also dangers of artistic research, discuss the approaches of interdisciplinary residencies, and talk about artistic perspectives on the climate crisis.

Moderator: Paolina Wandruszka, curator of the exhibition.

Come by to exchange ideas, celebrate, and take a last look at the exhibition!
